Note: There are some changes to this years categories. Please read below!

1. Business Person of the Year

• Is a dedicated positive leader and must own OR manage the business
• Supports the local business community
• Upholds an active role in the community

2. Business of the Year – Under 5 Employees
Any business with less than 5 employees that is not home-based that -

• Provides excellent service and product.
• Maintains good customer relationships and provides outstanding customer service.
• Upholds an active role in the community

3. Business of the Year – 5 or more Employees
Any business with 5 or more employees that is not home-based that -

• Provides excellent service and products.
• Maintains good customer relationships and provides outstanding customer service.
• Upholds an active role in the community.

4. New Business of the Year / New Ownership
Any Business, including Home Based businesses, that have opened within the last year that -

• Provides excellent service and products.
• Strives to engage with fellow businesses
• Upholds an active role in the community

5. Home-Based Business
Any home-based business that provides

• Maintains good customer relations
• Provides excellent service and product
• Works towards growing their business through successful and innovative marketing.

6. Lifetime Achievement Business Award
Any business owner who

• 20 years or more service in Quesnel & District
• Is recognized for outstanding service, community driven and community supporter
• Retired or Working Resident of Quesnel & District

7. Indigenous Social Leadership Award

• Consistently supports community growth
• Volunteers personal time
• Whose participation in the community has benefited Indigenous businesses

8. Excellence in Tourism Award (Any restaurant, hotel, motel, or business organization)
Any business, community service group, or organization that -

• Delivers outstanding quality products/services that enhance tourism/hospitality locally.
• Increases and promotes Tourism to Quesnel

9. Social Leadership Award / Wellness Engagement
Any business, community service group, non-profit, or organization that -

• Whose participation in the community has significantly benefited others
• Engage creativity and cultivate personal development
• That have made positive contributions to improve the well-being of residents in the community

10. Agricultural Excellence Award
Any agriculture business that -

• Works on growing stronger sustainable products in Quesnel and the area.
• Gives back to the community with time, product, donations, and or support.

11. Greatest Improvement Award
Any business or non-profit that has shown -

• Improvement on the façade of their business (exterior of their business)
• Beautification and interior renovations of their business
• Improvement of the business operations and services

Our next Business Excellence awards will take place in October, 2025

 Nomination Eligibility

• A minimum of 2 examples that contains a detailed description of why you believe the nominee should be given the award. Judges only have your submissions as information to base their vote.
• Incomplete nominations will be disqualified
• Please submit one form only for each category
• Nominations are not limited to Chamber Members
• 2025 Business Excellence Award recipients may be nominated will not be uneligible to receive the award for the same category for the second consecutive year.
